Four ways to prevent back pain in the gym
There is nothing that can put a stop to your training quicker than back pain but is there a way we can prevent it? With us today is our fitness expert Wes Cole.
Change your warm-up - Most people do some neck turns and start running or hitting the weights full blast. Not at my gym. I’ve perfected a mobility drill that will not only warm-up the whole body, especially the core and all that needed is a medicine ball.
Bad exercise form – These three common gym mistakes will wreak havoc on your back. Be warned!
Get on one leg - Most forms of locomotion occurs on one leg or when one limb is taking the brunt of weight so it’s functional. Also, it’s much easier on your back.
A tip from the world's best - Dr. Stuart McGill from Canada knows more about the human back than just about anyone else on the planet. It is this simple exercise that he says can strengthen the back. We all should listen.
