Just One Week to Look Great
We all know getting in great shape takes time but if you have a big date, special event or pictures where you want to really look sharp there’s some dietary and fitness secrets we can do to maximize our appearance in just one week.
1. Drink lots of water - Most of us walk around fairly bloated from water retention, making many feel and look a lot heavier than they are. Drinking water regularly keeps your body from retaining water because it knows it’s getting plenty of it. This is an old bodybuilding secret and I’m telling you, it works.
2. Pick the right carbohydrate – Carbohydrates are important for energy levels, but they also cause a lot of water retention. Totally avoid all pasta, breads and potatoes for this week which will prevent even more water retention.
3. Do high reps in the gym - I’m a big advocate for lifting heavy weights but this week lift in the 15-20 rep range. High rep lifting during this week will cause tremendous glycogen depletion further leaning you out.
4. Have a free meal before the event - Since you’ve been going low carbohydrate all week and you have been doing high reps your lean but your muscles might look small. Stop drinking a lot of water and eat a free meal consisting of some carbohydrate. Pancakes, rice, pasta, whatever. These will go straight to your muscles and swell them slightly. And because you’re not retaining a lot of water, your skin will be thinner, making your muscles more noticeable.
This isn’t a long term plan just secrets that bodybuilders and actors have done for years to look their best. It’s completely safe and just takes some discipline. Try it.

What equipment should I get to start a good home gym?

I’ve heard different thoughts on how much water a person should drink a day, and on if the water should be cold w/ice or room temp. Can you tell me what is right?
