Favorite Exercises of Olympic Athletes

Very few of us will ever be Olympic athletes but that doesn’t mean we can’t use some of training techniques. Today were going to go over what many Olympic coaches and athletes consider there most valuable exercises.

Core training - Whether you’re a boxer, runner or swimmer, Olympic athletes’ training programs always include an intense core workout. Try this abdominal circuit that builds strength and explosive power.

Unilateral exercises – also known as single limb exercises take up a large portion of an athlete’s fitness routine. Try these two exercises.

Stabilization and balance drills - also known as plyometrics develops speed, balance, anaerobic endurance and reaction. It also trains your muscles and ligaments for sudden change in direction, something that will dramatically reduce injury when running or playing sports.

Whether you’re an athlete with dreams of someday winning gold or just a weekend warrior, these exercises will make you quicker, stronger and more athletic.
