Health Lunches for All-Day Energy
In my opinion, I think lunch is responsible for the development of many people’s poor eating habits. But with the right info, you’ll realize how easy it is to make this one of the healthiest meals of the day.
There are 3 key points on making lunch healthier.
1. Pack your lunch
Carrying around a lunch sack might make you feel like you’re in middle school again but this is one of the best habits to develop. What’s the best to pack? The old fashion sandwich because it includes carbohydrates for energy, protein and veggie’s for fiber. Add a piece of fruit and you’ve got a complete meal.
2. Learn how to eat out
Many people sometimes forget to pack their lunch or forget to go to the store. In that case, learn how to pick the right places to eat. I know many people joke about the sub diet where the Jared guy lost a lot of weight but I had a client of mine loose 25 pounds eating a low-fat sub for lunch everyday so if you must eat out that’s what I would recommend. Also remember to avoid buffets. A recent study found that most people will consume an additional 300-400 calories eating at a buffet. You might be getting your money’s worth at an all you can eat but that’s not all you’re getting.
3. Small changes
Last but not least, people need to understand the power of small changes. Experts agree that to safely lose a pound of fat a week all you have to do is reduce you intake by 500 calories a day. That’s it. Don’t think you have to starve yourself or become an overnight health nut to lose fat. Small changes work and lunch is a great place to start.
